Dinosaur Park
The Dinosaur Park reopened in the summer of 2013 after a year-long renovation.
After the transformation, Dinosaur Park has a new look. 23 vivid dinosaurs, two pterosaurs, and a firm-beaked lizard that lived with the earliest dinosaurs form different combinations. They represent the world of the dinosaurs from the Late Triassic to the Late Cretaceous.
The Dinosaur Park mainly applies ingenious techniques to make the restored dinosaurs more realistic. In addition to the traditional movements, such as shaking heads, waving tails, opening mouth and roaring, Beijing Museum of Natural History also adds other tiny movements such as blinking and panting to make the dinosaurs more lifelike.
In Dinosaur Park, visitors can witness the huge Omeisaurus hiding in the woods, raising its long neck to eat the twigs at the top of the tree-like ferns. A small Yandusaurus, threatened by carnivorous dinosaurs, crawls under the belly of an Omeisaurus to seek refuge. Away from the danger on the ground, pterosaurs glide leisurely in the air. Mamenchisaurus moves its neck like a python, trying to make a cry, but because its neck is too long, just like today’s giraffe, it is a dumb. The more ferocious Yangchuanosaurus stares at the giant Omeisaurus, waiting for an opportunity to make an attack. Two Deinonychus predators join forces to besiege an Ankylosaurus, and the Ankylosaurus relied on its heavy armor, ignores the greedy Deinonychus.
Watch your head! Shunosaurus's barbed tail hammer swings around. You might be hit by this ferocious weapon.
In Dinosaur Park, a dinosaur excavation scene is on display, featuring the condition of dinosaur fossils inside the rocks. In addition, there are two virtual imaging of “Jehol Biota” and "Ocean in Dinosaur Age", showing the behemoths in the ocean of the dinosaur world. It is lifelike and absolutely pleasing to the eyes.
